Use of cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your browser when you visit almost any website. It is used so that a website can remember your visit when you return to browse the page. The website has cookies allowing CITIZENTRAL to obtain a series of User data.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text and number files containing small amounts of information that can be sent to the User's device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) when visiting our website. However, cookies sent to a device are not able to access personal information or transmit viruses by themselves; they can only track the browsing of the webpage. If you return to our website, these cookies are once again sent to our website or to another site that recognises the cookie, allowing us to recognise your device.

How do we use cookies?

Cookies are useful because they make it easier to navigate between pages and store your preferences, and we use them to improve your online experience. We currently use session cookies and technical cookies, and those for customisation, analysis and advertising. These last ones allow the advertising spaces that appear on the website to be managed based on criteria such as content or the frequency that the ads appear. Lastly, we would like to inform you that we use Google Analytics. This cookie is used to collect information regarding how our website is used. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve our website. We do not share this information with third parties. Cookies collect information anonymously, which means that they can not be linked again to the user. They collect data such as the number of visitors who have used our website, where the visitors who browse the website come from and which pages they have visited. You you want to find out more about Google Analytics, you can consult its online privacy policy. You can find information on privacy in Google Analytics here.

Cookies on social networks?

On the other hand, social networks with which CITIZENTRAL interacts on the website use cookies for their share buttons. CITIZENTRAL has no procedure for monitoring or reporting the results; this is the responsibility of each social network. When a User registers with their credentials on a social network, they authorise the corresponding social network to keep a persistent cookie which remembers their identity and guarantees access until it expires. The User may delete this cookie and revoke access by updating their preferences on the relevant social network. CITIZENTRAL recommends that the User consults the terms of use and privacy and cookies policy on the social networks they use.

How can I disable cookies?

You can choose for your computer to receive a warning whenever a cookie is sent or you can choose to disable all cookies. To do so, go to the settings menu of your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.). Each browser is different, so we recommend consulting the Help menu of your browser to see how to correctly configure your cookies. But remember that if you disable cookies, you may not have access to some features that make our Website more efficient. If you do not want the data of your visits to be reported to Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on. For more information on installing and deinstalling this add-on, go to: The previously mentioned websites are not CITIZENTRAL sites and we are not responsible for their content.
